Pregnancy is a beautiful feeling for a woman as becoming a mother is what most women dream of all their life. However, it can also happen unplanned, and in that case, missing your period is the first sign that can indicate pregnancy.

The next step is to confirm if you are pregnant or not. While some women prefer to use medically tested pregnancy tests, others do not. There are many simple, safe, and super cheap options available right in the comfort of your homes if you do not want to or have access to a pregnancy test. However, it must be noted that these tests are not medically approved and do not produce guaranteed results.

7 Homemade Remedies to Check Pregnancy

  • Bleaching Powder

Bleach is available almost in every house and can be used to test pregnancy at home. Take a clean container and collect urine in it. Now add some bleaching powder to it and mix it properly to avoid lumps. If the mixture forms a foam or fizz, it means you might be pregnant, and if there is no foam, you might not be pregnant.

  • Toothpaste

White toothpaste can be used for testing pregnancy at home. Take two tablespoons of white toothpaste in a container and add the urine sample to it. If the toothpaste changes its colour and becomes frothy, you might be pregnant.

  • Salt

Pregnancy tests can also be conducted with the help of salt, which is also available in every single home. This is a traditional method with no scientific evidence. Urine and salt are to be mixed in equal parts. After a minute, if the salt forms a creamy white clump of sorts, it means a positive result.

  • Urine

Pregnancy can be tested with the help of a clean jar and your urine. Collect urine first thing in the morning in a clean jar and let it sit for 24 hours. If there are no visible changes in the jar, it might mean you are not pregnant.

  • Soap

Soap is also useful to test for pregnancy at home. You can use almost any soap for this test regardless of make, colour, or fragrance. Place the soap in the bowl, pour two tablespoons of urine on the soap, and observe. If the soap froths and bubbles appear, then it is likely that you are pregnant.

  • Shampoo

The shampoo is also just as convenient as the toothpaste and soap pregnancy test. It requires no specialized tools, and the results can be observed instantly. Put two drops of shampoo in a clean bowl, add some water to form a soapy solution, and whisk gently to combine the ingredients. Now add a few drops of the collected urine and observe. If the shampoo solution begins to froth, it might mean you are pregnant, and if there is no reaction, it might mean no pregnancy.

  • Wine

You can also use wine for testing for pregnancy at home. Take half a cup of each of the wine and urine and mix them. Observe the mixture for some time, and if the colour of the wine changes, it might mean you are pregnant.
